Ok, great. Laughter is good for you. But how do you take advantage of this "stress-killer"? Humor and Stress: Laugh! But How? As long as you get a good smile and a laugh once in a while, your stress is history! Humor and Stress: Being Funny Kills Stress! Stress doesn't stand a chance against humor. When you watch funny things and laugh, your body releases endorphins. That's great. But when you take it one step further and be funny, your stress will be long gone. Here's one last tip... Whenever you want to add some humor, "Go For The Throat". Hmm? Say something that people normally don't talk about, and put it in a light manner. Why? If you crack a joke about something that everyone talks about, it won't be funny. Therefore, by humoring something not spoken about, people are likely to laugh. Here's an example... Let's say there is a very short-tempered woman (or man!) at work, and no one wants to say anything about it. It's stressing everyone out (you too). Everyone wants to say something, but no one wants to be the first one to do so. Therefore, if you're first, they'll enjoy it because everyone's itching to hear something. Crack a light joke about the short-tempered person. Say something like, "She's always angry; her face is red like a tomato. I'm surprised it hasn't turned into tomato sauce!" It's a silly joke, but you get the point, right? Be humorous when no one else dares to be. It will kill all the stress and tension... Humor and Stress: Take-home Lesson? Great!
