Ready to learn about music and stress? You see, there is evidence to prove that it's a good idea to listen to music for stress relief. Is it true? Hey, you know, for me it is!

In fact, music is one of my first options to turn to when I'm stressed. Stress and music? These two simply cannot exist together. Why? How? Most importantly, what music?

If you listen to a song to feel "pumped up" or to feel energized, it wouldn't make a good "stress relief song", if you know what I mean. You want a song to relax you. You should listen to a song that cools you down.

Hey! Even a song that makes you go to sleep would work! But what if you're a "hard rock" type of person? What if your whole CD collection or Ipod consists of only energetic songs?

There's still an answer! I prefer rock music too, but how about when I'm stressed? Mind if a share a soothing song with you?

It's classical music. Oh come on! You knew I was going to mention listening to soft, classical music! It works so well for me. What song in particular?

Johann Pachelbel's Canon in D major.

You've probably never heard of this song. But it's worth listening to! When you're stressed out, nothing is more soothing and relaxing. I feel like I can just empty my thoughts whenever I listen to this song.

It just clears my mind so well. You know, I listen to it a few times over to get the full effect. It's very relaxing, and it gives me instant stress relief. And what's more? It easily gets stuck in my head, so the tune is still playing once I'm done listening. Hey! You're probably getting tired of me describing it! Why not give it a try?

Even I was skeptical about a genre that I wasn't familiar with. But whether you like rock, rap, hip-hop, pop or anything else, you'll definitely like this song.

You'll enjoy this song even if no matter what kind of music you like. And that's coming from me, who happens to like whatever is on playing the radio!

That's right. When you're listening to music, your attention is on the music. And depending on what type of music it is, your mood will change. For example, loud rock music will make you feel energetic.

The same way, soft, soothing music relaxes you. It "de-stresses" you. But remember, the music is still your choice. As long as it makes you feel happy, listen to it.

That's the main advantage of music. While you're preparing breakfast or dinner, while you're jogging, while you're eating, -anything! It's just so easy to include in your life.

So how much time does it take to listen to music? Zero! As long as you mix it with your other activities, you'll be a time-saving and stress-relieving machine!
